The Winters Remodeling Experience

Large or small, remodeling projects can be expensive, invasive into your home life, stressful and time-consuming, so choosing the right company to have by your side during the entire process can make all the difference in the world. No high pressure sales tactics or lack of transparency in the sales process, no bait-and-switch tactics where you agree to a price only to see it continuously escalate throughout the project due to items that were not disclosed initially, and most importantly no wondering what’s going or when you will hear back from your salesman or project manager. While there’s no such thing as perfect or dust-free remodeling, the design-build-remodel team at Winters Remodeling Group will work hard to make your experience as painless as possible.

Every project begins with a thorough initial consultation with a sales/design representative, which will include a discussion of your ideas, needs and budget, as well as initial measurements and a brief overview of available options. While many companies simply ignore your ideas and give you a quote based on their own project plans, we spend the necessary time to fully understand your home remodeling goals and review all the design possibilities within your budget. Home remodeling is almost always a process of deciding between good, better and best options, whether the quality of materials or level and detail in the craftsmanship. We will present initial budgets in these ranges that incorporate all of your available options, and discuss all the details in depth so you fully understand exactly what your price includes before signing a remodeling agreement.

More than anything during the sales and planning process, we listen…we listen to your goals, your needs, your ideas and your priorities, and while we can present options and make recommendations, ultimately we want the final project design to reflect your own tastes and style. And we look forward to working with you to make that happen!

At the conclusion of the Initial Consultation, should you decide to more forward into the Design Development phase we will engage one of our experienced professional designers to meet with you and put your plan on paper to get it “permit-ready.” During this phase we also work with you to select all necessary fixtures and materials and make final determinations on the project scope of work, and one of our lead carpenters will complete a project walk-through to ensure a seamless transition from design to implementation. When all selections have been made and the design has been accepted, your sales/design representative will provide a formal, written quote for the project that spells out all costs and anticipated timelines for the job. This way you will know prior to signing a contract exactly how much your project will cost, without having to worry about inadequate allowance amounts for fixtures or potential change orders that can dramatically increase job costs above the initial quote. You will also be given an entire specification sheet that lists all of the materials being used on your project, so there is no confusion during the job regarding specifically what is going into your home or what was included in your contract.

After contract signing, we will secure the necessary permits and then schedule a Pre-Construction Meeting with your lead carpenter and project manager prior to the start of construction. During this meeting we will review the project timelines and deliverables, as well as ‘housekeeping’ issues such as where materials will be delivered and stored, how to deal with pets, and answer any questions you may have.

During the construction phase you will have regular updates and communication from your project manager and opportunities to discuss any questions or concerns you may have regarding the job: You will always know what’s going on with your work and we are only a phone call away should you have any questions. Upon finish, we will schedule a project completion meeting during which we will review all the work that has been done, view before, during and after photographs, and deliver all applicable product warranties. All that’s left is for you to enjoy your newly remodeled home for years to come.
